The Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience (OPDR) is an applied research program working toward the mission of creating a disaster resilient and sustainable state. Developed and coordinated by the Community Service Center (CSC) at the University of Oregon, OPDR employs a service learning model to increase community capacity and enhance disaster safety and resilience statewide. The  Oregon Partnership for Disaster Resilience (OPDR), a program within the University of Oregon’s Community Service Center, intends to support up to eight Oregon counties in updating their existing natural hazards mitigation plans in accordance with 44 CFR 201.6. Jackson County and the cities of Ashland, Eagle Point, Rogue River and Shady Cove are in the process of updating a multi-jurisdictional Natural Hazards Mitigation Plan in an effort to prepare for the long term effects of natural emergencies such as flood, wildfire and winter storms.

Douglas and Coos County Strategic Emergency Management Plans

The primary purpose of this project is to develop strategic emergency management plans for the Douglas and Coos County Emergency Management (EM) programs. Secondarily, the project will identify strategic opportunities for regional planning and collaboration between the two counties’ emergency management programs.
